Nurture Promotion
The Hastings Community Arts Council's mission is to nurture, promote, coordinate and celebrate arts, artists and culture in Hastings.
From sponsoring numerous events year-round to providing grants to arts programs in Hastings, Nebraska, the Hastings Community Arts Council knows that having a bustling art scene within a city proves for creative development elsewhere.
Hastings is home to two colleges, three high schools and numerous elementary and middle schools. It is our goal to make art accessible to everyone.
Free concerts during the Downtown Farmers Markets on Thursdays and free art mobile activities on Fridays during the summer help sustain that connection to the arts when school may not be in session.
The Community Mural Project brought forth stakeholders from across the community to create a permanent art piece the people of Hastings, Nebraska can enjoy and interact with on a daily basis.
Through developing an artist database the Hastings Community Arts Council is hoping to connect the artists to the community on a regular basis with the promotion of gallery openings, art shows and performances happening in our community.
Each summer the Hastings Community Arts Council hosts “Art Mobile” every Friday in conjunction with the Hastings Public Library’s Storytime in the park. Different are projects are created in correlation to the stories being read that week by the library. This free program is supported by Give Hastings Day and annual fundraisers.
